The ACCORD Network was established in 2006. The structure of the network includes 20 community organizations in Western Ukraine.

The purpose of creating a network of NGOs in Western Ukraine is information sharing and mutual support for joint projects and programs.

Given the lack of financial support from the government and the need to involve state budget funds and international grants, the network adopted an appropriate memorandum.

The basic principles of the network’s platform are:

- Openness;

- Protection of all disadvantaged groups;

- Adoption of universal and democratic principles;

- Members do not support any political group or party;

- Cooperation with state agencies and other NGOs.

The purpose and objectives of the platform are:

- Define basic common issues, scope, collaboration;

- Exchange of experiences and best practices;

- Assistance in training of partner organizations;

- Presentation of projects in support of the platform and partner organizations;

- Promotion of civil society in Western Ukraine;

- Establishment of communication between partner organizations;

- Advocacy platform of interest to the EC;

- Establishing partnerships in the development of civil society;

- Informing partners of changes in legislative acts;

- Training of network members and others.

The main activities are:

- Identifying existing social problems and the relevant activities that are necessary for cooperation with European institutions;

- Establishing a working mechanism for advocacy;

- Establishing working mechanisms for the various activities of NGOs;

- Creating and maintaining an effective system of communication;

- Cooperating with international donors;

- Organizing publications, public awareness, support social initiatives, volunteering, civil society;

- Creating a network of NGOs;

- Promoting social and economic development communities;

- Promoting civil society in Ukraine;

- Training network members and their partners, organizing conferences, exchanging experiences and best practices;

- Developing proposals, programs and projects.
